This is part of an ongoing health tip list that you can come back and check each month along with the newsletter for all the latest healthy information you can actually use.
Health Tips
1. Why drink so much water?
Well, there are a number of reasons such as it’s the liquid nutrient delivery and waste removal system of your entire body for one.
BUT, did you know that even slight dehydration can cause a major drop in energy production and make you feel really tired until you’re fully hydrated again. Be sure to drink your water, you will feel better that’s for sure.
2. Can dehydration cause pain?
Yes, dehydration can contribute to both joint and muscle pain. Once again drink your water (not soda, not coffee and not sugary fruit juice but just good old fashioned water will do the trick).
3. Is it possible to tell if I’m dehydrated?
Yes, the actual rule of thumb is if you’re thirsty you’re already dehydrated as your thirst mechanism (bell) is your body’s signal that you are low in body fluids so continuously sip water throughout the entire day at a pace that doesn’t allow you to become thirsty and you should do pretty well with staving off dehydration.
This Month’s Goofy Health/Natural Tip/Fact is:
How many bones do you think a Giraffe has in its neck?
I mean that’s a pretty long neck right? The adult Giraffe has a neck of approximately 6 feet and weighing about 600 pounds.
So, how many vertebrae (bones) does that long neck have?
They have exactly the same number you have in your neck which is 7.
With the Giraffe however each one can be up to 10 inches in length.
And there you have it, your Goofy nature fact for June 2010.
Have a good one, Patrick Shelley
